Pacamara

El Salvador's large-bean cross of Pacas and Maragogipe, known for bold, complex and sometimes savory cups.

Pacamara was bred in El Salvador by crossing Pacas with Maragogipe, a Typica mutation famous for its giant beans. The research program started in the late 1950s, and the result has some of the largest beans in coffee.

Its cup is distinctive and divisive: bold fruit, florals and chocolate, sometimes with herbal or savory notes. It often does well in competitions.
